Children’s Liturgy of the Word resumes at the 8:30 a.m. Mass on September 19th. Any children at Mass are invited to proceed with adult volunteers to hear the Children’s Liturgy of the Word and rejoin their families after the Homily. Parents are expected to rotate in to help the Leaders. We will also have teen helpers! If you are interested in helping with this important ministry, please contact Margaret Dwyer Hogan at mdhogan@holycrosseaston.org.
For parents of first graders, we have a grandparent trained in this program who will be teaching her grandchild this year using this methodology. This program is based on the montesorri early childhood method of children learning by doing, and is widely used across the United States and here in the Diocese of Worcester with great success. If we have sufficient interest in it by parents, we will formally launch a group on site here next year. To learn more about CGS, visit: Cathecesis of the Good Shepard
If you have a first grader who you think might prefer this to classroom instruction (these classes will be via zoom for the fall on Wed from 4:30 - 5:30) please reach out to Mrs. Hogan directly at mdhogan@holycrosseaston.org.
